These deviled eggs are so much fun for kids to make and fill. We use a zip bag to combine the ingredients for the egg filling. You can send them to school with the bag of filling and let them fill their eggs at school. You can also place the finished eggs in a container with carrots or celery on each side to steady them and prevent them from rolling over. This one requires a chill bag in the lunch box.
These are great in a lunchbox (no refrigeration needed) or as an after-school snack. I used Nevitas Chocolate Protein Smoothie Mix from Williams Sonoma, but any chocolate or vanilla protein powder will do. Like all of these recipes, use what you have. Any mix of dried fruits, nuts, and seeds will work. If your kids don’t like coconut, leave it out. Be sure to use gluten-free oatmeal. Kids can help roll these balls out, too.
