Magic Deviled Eggs

Fayette Woman - Mon, 07/27/2015 - 4:02pm

These deviled eggs are so much fun for kids to make and fill. We use a zip bag to combine the ingredients for the egg filling. You can send them to school with the bag of filling and let them fill their eggs at school. You can also place the finished eggs in a container with carrots or celery on each side to steady them and prevent them from rolling over. This one requires a chill bag in the lunch box.

Fancy Power Balls

Fayette Woman - Mon, 07/27/2015 - 4:00pm

These are great in a lunchbox (no refrigeration needed) or as an after-school snack. I used Nevitas Chocolate Protein Smoothie Mix from Williams Sonoma, but any chocolate or vanilla protein powder will do. Like all of these recipes, use what you have. Any mix of dried fruits, nuts, and seeds will work. If your kids don’t like coconut, leave it out. Be sure to use gluten-free oatmeal. Kids can help roll these balls out, too.

Fruity Chicken Salad

Fayette Woman - Mon, 07/27/2015 - 3:40pm

Fruity chicken salad another leftovers recipe; use what you have. It's kind of like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get! Try using this fun recipe as a healthy sack lunch option for your kids or yourself! Lots of kids prefer the taste of full fat yogurt to mayonnaise, which works great as well. This recipe is also gluten free!

Fancy Roll Ups

Fayette Woman - Mon, 07/27/2015 - 3:40pm

Fancy Roll Ups will impress the other kids! They are better than what they can get in those packaged lunches. Make it with what your kid loves. I used small kosher pickles with ham and turkey. They can dip them in mustard if they would like or add extra ranch. You can make this recipe as easy or as complex as you'd like. Serve them at your next backyard get together or put them in your lunch box!
