Mrs. Sheryl (Sherry) Cochran Gibbons, 58, of Fayetteville

Mrs. Sheryl (Sherry) Cochran Gibbons, age 58, of Fayetteville, GA passed away December 31, 2010.

Sherry was born in Fulton County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edward Gibbons and a brother, Kevin Cochran.

Sherry had been employed by the US District Court for 29 plus years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter and sister who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid reader and a devoted Braves fan.

Survivors are her children, Crystal Hemmings (Mark) of McDonough, Chris Gibbons (Kelly) of Palm Coast, FL, and Chad Gibbons (Catie) of Fayetteville; parents, Bob and Jackie Cochran of McDonough; grandchildren, Lindsey Hemmings of McDonough and Madison Gibbons of Palm Coast, FL; brother, Michael Cochran of Kansas City, MO and Chris Cochran (Linda) of Laurel, Maryland; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Sherry will be Monday, January 3, 2011, 4:00 PM at McDonough Christian Church with Rev. Paul Leslie officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. A private committal service will be held at Holly Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers for those who wish may make donations to the American Cancer Society or McDonough Christian Church Building Fund.
