Phyllis Dale Hammel

Phyllis Dale "Granny" Hammel, 70, Fayetteville, died Jan. 16, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry William Hammel Sr. She loved to travel and spend time with her family. She worked at the Base Exchange at Ft. Gillem for over 23 years. Following her retirement she was a volunteer at the Fayette Thrift Store.

Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Hinton Harris and the Rev. Glenn Stringham officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Survivors include a son, Larry William and Ann Hammel Jr.; a daughter, Renee and Bill Goddard, Jonesboro; grandchildren, Britton Hammel Cobb, John Hammel and Clara Hammel; a brother, Chip and Kay Britt, Clayton, N. C.; and sisters, Peggy and Jerry Boss, Franklin, Tenn., and Patty Kegelmeyer, San Ramon, Calif. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
