Mystery smoke fills some PTC neighborhoods Sunday night

Residents in Peachtree City neighborhoods north of Ga. Highway 54 and on the east and west sides of Flat Creek Road and around Northlake Drive got a smoky surprise Sunday night. But units from the Peachtree City Fire Dept. and police officers cruising the streets could not find the source of the smoke.

The haze and smoke began well before 8 p.m. and by that time fire units were driving area neighborhoods trying to locate the source. That search as of 9 p.m. came up empty.

Fire personnel could only theorize that the source of the hazy smoke might have been from an outside fire, since Sunday was a burn day, that smoldered heavily as it was extinguished.

check the whereabouts of a certain Fayette County Commissioner?

No wait, seems it was the Haddix/Imker version of "Gunfight at the O.K. Corral". Called "Smokeout at Flat Creek Trail"....seems Spy and and AHG and friends tried to have a little bbq for the two neighbors, but it got downright ugly toward the end...pork butt was flyin' everywhere...

I was watching The State Of The Union address on my DVR Sunday night while sitting in my wicker chair when all of a sudden strong winds and heavy smoke started blowing up from below my chair. The room continued to fill with smoke along with this strong wind from below. The smoke and wind continued. I turned on off my DVR and it stopped. I turned on my attic fan and vented it to the outside. I sincerely apologize to all affected.

All you had to do was ask Boehner to cry on it!

I was able to solve with the attic fan, but hey ya got to love a man with compassion and feelings. Thanks for the great suggestion. I will keep in mind. You rock !!

Hot July and August days can be stressful for birds, but a bird-friendly yard can attract birds — especially those fascinating hummingbirds — all summer long.
