Brooks UMC will offer classes in waltz, wedding dance

Beginning Saturday, Feb. 16 through March 9, from 7 until 8 p.m., Brooks UMC will offer classes in the waltz, taught at a beginner level. Then, from 8-8:30 p.m., there will be a bonus class in wedding dance, also at a beginner level.

People who do not want to make a financial commitment may drop in for a fee of $10 per person, per class. The class is $35 per person for a four week session.

This class will be dancing to the one-step which is a classic romantic dance and will cover all love songs that are not waltz tempo.

Classes will be held at Brooks United Methodist Church, 119 Morgan Mill Rd. in Brooks. This location is conveniently located for Peachtree City, Senoia, Tyrone, Griffin, Fayetteville, and Newnan.

The Georgia Department of Labor announced this week that the unemployment rate in the Three Rivers region in July was 7.1 percent, up five-tenths of a percentage point from 6.6 percent in June.
