Horton down but coming back

Recent rains have helped water levels at Lake Horton increase by more than six feet, but the lake remains 10.1 feet below full pool thanks to the longstanding drought. Lake Horton is the county’s southernmost water reservoir and is partially filled by withdrawing water from the Flint River, which didn’t happen as often because of low flows on the Flint due to the drought, water system officials have said. If this rain doesn't fill Lake Horton, they better check it for leaks!

You must be using one of those super-duper Mac machines to see those umbrellas. They're not displayed using a PC. Anyways, stay dry. I'll soon be boarding the morning balloon to LA. It's not raining there.

on my iPhone with the purty blue raindrops and purple umbrellas. On my 21.5 inch iMac, they are little specs, look like black candelabras, of all things. Amazing what the littlest contraptions can do, isn't it? From the looks of things above, you aren't taking them with you to LA. As you said, you won't need them. My rubbers are ready to go. Happy trails!

It's about the same temp in LA as it is in Fayetteville. It's a rare day in LA though, I can see the San Gabriel Mountains from LAX.

Heck no. Can't wait for the next hour or so with some drenching rain!

I've beed out here since 1030 and I already miss the "ville".

Family in Riverside and I had other family in Corona. I went once to visit and decided that whole southwest lifestyle was not for me. An inlaw is on the Riverside airport authority. I know we should never say never, but that was my first and last visit, ever. My door is always open to them here, if and when they want to visit. If you see any of those Hollywood types, tell them we said hey. Who knows, maybe you'll be doing that in the opposite direction when they set up shop here!

Well, the hotel I was at hosted the Los Angeles Conscious Life Expo. From what I can tell, this group consists of aging hippies still wearing their 1960's tie-dyes. Oh, and I think they invited their grown chitlins to attend. I listen to a few of them talking about differnt degrees of mediation; what ever that is.

Anyways I'm at the aerodrome waiting on the company bus to arrive from Sydney and then its home to the "ville".

Sounds like L.A. was groovy, man. Some things never change.

Sydney? My list has New Zealand on it, though not Australia. Don't know if I'll get there, but it seems like a good place to visit. Looks like you will bring the sunshine with you, Cy. Can't be soon enough, as I don't think we haven't seen it since you left. Do you come across the left coast on your way back? Man, that's a lotta miles, isn't it? Maybe you'll pass the POTUS along the way. Seems his love affair with his AF1 is just that, a love affair. He gets here tomorrow to toot his horn again, since no one else will.

Have a safe journey.

Your umbrellas do show up on my newly purchased Lenovo laptop running Windows 8 64.

I guess MS Windows finally caught up with the Mac crowd. My work laptop is still running XT.

Guess you made it to the Left Coast OK--we still don't have any inclement WX here except for a little drizzle--which we need badly.

It's coming your way. I flew over it and it was bumpy!!!!!

Ugly stuff has hit Miss; Doppler radar shows no threat to FFC area.

Don't think CY was saying he was either in orgoing to Sydney--at least not this trip! But strongly recommend you go if you get a chance--it's a great city and the Aussies are truly our friends and very hospitable. Some damn good beer too!

The trip was just to the left coast.

Singapore might be coming up.

Got it. Read it too fast, absorbed too little. Story of my life sometimes.

Okay, you convinced me. It's on the list.

Went there on one of my R&Rs from Vietnam. Will confess that it was during the age of mini-skirts and I almost got run-over numerous times while crossing streets there! And in the Hotel, if you sat at the bar and had a drink and in the course of normal discussions with other customers, if they discovered you were on R&R from RVN, you wouldn't be able to buy another drink--that's how they were.--at least for my visit. Oh, almost forgot--if you go, visit the North Sydney Leagues's Club--it sorta like a VFW thing and you had to wear coat & tie. But ameneties were great and food/drinks/floor shows were truly unbelieveable!

is coming our way again. The forecast calls for 3-4 inches expected Friday - Tuesday.

Now what about that rain tax?

Sure doesn't show on Doppler yet~! Oh, checked your impervious surfaces lately? Where's that water gonna wind up? Got your rain barrel in place yet? Your County Govt wants to know!
