John Leonard, age 85

We celebrated the life of John Leonard on Friday, February 7th at 10:30 at  Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City.

John passed away on February 3rd after a brief illness. He was 85 years old.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years – Madeline, 5 children – John, Helen, Katherine, Michael and Peter, and 5 grandchildren – Anthony, Lisa, Christina, Andrew and James.

He was a quiet and gentle man who never hesitated to be of help to anyone in need. Some of John's many additional accomplishments include being a Korean War veteran, holding PhD in Economics, and speaking Japanese. He was beloved and will be greatly missed.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9949's next meeting is Thursday, July 9, at 200 Glendalogh Court in Tyrone. The group meets at 7 p.m. the second Thursday of every month.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour traveled to Senoia June 6-7 for the Canongate Series #4. The Canongate Seminole Course played excellent host to two very competitive rounds of junior golf.
