Valentine social set for Friday

The United Methodist Men of Cornerstone United Methodist Church on Ga. Highway 154 at Thomas Crossroads in Newnan will host a “Heart & Soul” Valentine social Friday, Feb. 11, from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. The event will feature the Live Big Band music of The Peachtree Jazz Edition with vocalist Toni Byrd.

Proceeds from the social will go to the Boy Scout program and Cornerstone UMC repair projects.

The Valentine Social is open to anyone 17 years of age and older, couples or singles. Those attending may have their portraits taken to commemorate the evening. Childcare will be available at no charge with advanced reservations.

In addition to the musical entertainment, gourmet coffees, teas and heavenly desserts will be provided by Towne Club Peachtree City.

Advanced tickets are $12 ($15 at the door). Doors open at 7 p.m. Peachtree Jazz Edition’s repertoire includes many original arrangements recorded by such artists as Glenn Miller, Frank Sinatra, Natalie Cole, Melissa Manchester and Willie Nelson.
