A 90th birthday celebration

The family of Charlotte Hightower Smith, third from left, gave a big birthday party for her on the occasion of her 90th birthday. Helping her celebrate were childhood friends from left;  Mary Frances McFarland Smith, Fayette County High School Class of 1939, Betty McFarland Wilkinson, Class of 1942, Smith, Class of 1941, and Ada Ballard Hewell, Class of 1945. The Starr's Mill Panthers boys golf team finished fourth in Monday's AAAAA state tournament. The McIntosh Chiefs finished eighth as a team. Cambridge won the team title with a +6 (290).
