Sandy Creek Patriots receive national recognition

On Friday representatives from MaxPreps sports came to present head Coach Chip Walker and the Sandy Creek Patriots varsity football team with a Tour of Champions trophy. The Patriots are ranked third in the state of Georgia and 88 overall in the nation out of 17,000 schools. MaxPreps also presented the Patriots with a special gift, a street sign labeled Champion Way for Sandy Creek’s three state championships in four years. Photo/Horace Holloman III.

This has been a continuing great story.

I'll never forget the photo in the AJC I think after their first championship. It showed the young men jumping up and down, celebrating wildly, as you would expect. (I know that's what I'd have done). In the foreground was Coach Chip Walker with a modest smile that said "Guys, I told you that you could do it." Obviously the Coach has something.

My son is a senior this year at Sandy Creek and we have enjoyed the last 4 years being HUGE Patriots fans!!!! Way to go CREEEEEEKKKKK!!!
