Also up for election are several state legislative seats whose districts include Fayette County. District 16 Senator Ronnie Chance has said he will not seek re-election. As of press time four Republican candidates have announced they would seek that seat including Fayetteville attorney David Studdard, Tyrone businessman and Tea Party activist Marty Harbin, Griffin attorney William “Bill” Johnston and attorney James W. Clifton, who practices in Newnan but is a lifelong resident of Fayette County.

Isn't that the dope who took a wiz in public in the parking lot in downtown Fayetteville? Someone say it ain't so.

Don't think I'd call him that but yes, that's what the charge was. Think there's more to the story than that simple explanation. It was between 1 & 2 in the morning and the only people around to observe him were the cops who charged him. I think they knew he was in the bar and maybe, just maybe, waited for him to come out. And I'm surethey knew he was a lawyer. Don't rush to judgement.

Don't rush to judgement? Did he or did he not urinate in a public parking lot in the town square?
Please share what deep hidden meaning there was behind law enforcement actions here.

I admitI don'tknow what the "town square" is--but I think what he was charged with was urinating in a public place (parking lot behind the bar). I saw a report saying that he had had conversation earlier in the night with city police officers inthe bar. I don't know about you, but if I think back through history, I have seen it necessary to take bladder relief in some unusual places at unusual hrs. I don't know what the disposition of the charge was, but I'm sure it'll surface in the political campaign. Finally, Idon't know Studdard and have only heard from acquaintenances that he is a good lawyer. Hey,vote your conscience.

Overlook the pee pee incident indeed. Wasn't Mr. Studdard on a noble mission to get a drunk young lady home safely that night? If I am mistaken I will gladly retract. Don't want to give this political dynasty wannabe the Noble Piece Prize if he doesn't deserve it.

He was having breakfast this morning with Barlow. Guess Barlow was giving him pointers or making sure he went to church.

Oh great...we get our Clerk of Court's hubby as a candidate for state office. Sheesh... another career politician family... Just what we need.

Reminds me of the Clinton's and the Dingles...
