Heritage Christian Adademy to offer new kindergarten class

The Heritage Christian Academy will add a kindergarten class in the fall for 2013/14 school year. Kindergarten hours will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day except on Fridays when classes dismiss at noon. Enrichment classes will be offered after school on Friday at an additional low cost fee.

The kindergarten class is in addition to Heritage’s early education classes for ages six months through five years. These classes include a Mom’s Morning Out, two-year and three-year-olds, Pre K and advanced Pre K. Weekly cultural arts classes and monthly events are included to make for a fun, learning experience.

The community is invited to an open house on Sunday, March 3 from 3 – 5 p.m. New students for all classes can register at the open house.

The academy’s kindergarten students will participate in music, gym, Spanish, computer lab and Bible classes each week in addition to the daily academic lessons. In addition, kindergartners will use updated technology such as iPads to enhance their educational experience

Local field trips and technology classes will be included as well as monthly cultural art events that promote a fun learning experience for enrolled students which include a bike rodeo, fall festival, luau, pajama day, western day, circus day, visit from Dr. Seuss and the tooth fairy, Thanksgiving feast and class parties.

Classroom studies will include math and number skills, reading, writing/phonics, science, language arts, social studies, character development skills and Bible exploration.

The Heritage Academy uses the A-Beka (phonics based), Wee Learn Curriculum (faith based centers) and Handwriting without Tears curriculum.
