Margaret Boyd of Tyrone

Mrs. Margaret Boyd of Tyrone passed away Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012.

Mrs. Boyd was employed with GM for 15 years. She then retired from Bank of America as Executive Vice President after 30 years of service. She was a member of Hopewell UMC for many years and was currently a member of First Christian Church of Tyrone.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Gerald (Jerry) Boyd of Tyrone; daughter, Melanie Vermilyea and her husband, Christian of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Tiffany Vermilyea; Brooke Vermilyea; Christian Vermilyea; Nicholas Henderson; sisters, Charlotte Slaton and her husband, Eugene; Frances Stinchcomb and her husband, Dan; Joan Roper; numerous brothers and sisters in-law, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 2 p.m. at First Christian Church of Tyrone with remains placed in state at 1 p.m.

Dr. Jim Ellison and Minister Billy Rowe officiating. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Gardens.
