Softball tourney features teams from 3 states

The EC Bullets girls fast-pitch softball team, based on Tyrone, hosted a tournament last weekend at Meade Fields in conjunction with the Peachtree City Girls Softball Association. It was a fundraising tournament that was set up in a modified ASA format.

The field consisted of 24 teams from Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee in two divisions. The A bracket was won by the Birmingham Vipers and the B bracket by the Ga Fire.

The GA Impact 03 based in Brooks placed third in the A bracket. That team as well as the EC Bullets will play this weekend in Birmingham at Turf Wars, and ultimately in the ASA Nationals in Johnson City, Tenn.
