Starting Lent on the go

The Rev. Rita Henault, right, rector of the Episcopal Church of the Nativity, and Morrison Mack, acolyte master, signal that the parish’s “Ashes To Go” event is starting on Ash Wednesday morning (March 5). Many passers-by took advantage of the opportunity to take advantage of this unique way to receive the imposition of ashes on their foreheads and mark the beginning of Lent. The station was set up at the intersection of Ga. Hwy. 92 and Antioch Road, south of downtown Fayetteville, in the parking lot of Prime Financial near the church property. Photo/Special.
