Throughout her life, Jan was a beloved member of the community and could frequently be found volunteering for various charities and organizations. She enjoyed golfing, gardening, reading, playing cards and the friends she met along the way.

In Peachtree City Jan was a member of Sassy Sisters Book Club, Newcomers, Flatcreek Niners Golf Club, a judge in Memorial Days School Essay Contest and many card groups. Jan and her husband Bill moved to Birmingham, Ala. where she joined the women's golf club and many card groups. She made many good friends and came back to Peachtree City to retire after 2 years.
