Of course I am sure they're also trying to promote a healthier environment. Either way, with all the criticism out there about this, I can't help but wonder why individuals care and get so worked up? The outcome of a business taking advantage of a holiday to try and get sales is: more revenue in our economy helping to stimulate it; a lot more revenue equals a lot more job; and they are nevertheless getting individuals to contribute to the environment by recycling or whichever gimmick they have going on. So how is there a down side at all?
