Charity golf tournament coming to Cannongate

Awesome Youth Inc. will host its first annual Elaine B. Connally Memorial Golf Tournament Saturday, May 15 at the Canongate I Golf Club.

The tournament event begins at 11 a.m. with tee time at 1 p.m. Team registration and single registration is available. Team, single, and raffle prizes include items such as cash, golf equipment and a Honda Accord Crosstour.

Awesome Youth Incorporated is a nonprofit organization, with all proceeds from the tournament benefitting the Summer Camp Scholarships for underprivileged under-served youth.

The organization was founded in 2001 by Winston and Elaine B. Connally to empower youth and help them develop the skills necessary for a successful, responsible future. The annual summer camp allows students to participate in community enrichment programs and classes such healthy eating class and an academic enrichment class.
