900-student Trinity Christian School looks to expand

The Coweta County Development Authority earlier this month signed a resolution expected to lead to bond funding that would help with an expansion project at the Trinity Christian School on Ga. Highway 54 that would add 15 classrooms at the east Coweta County campus.

CCDA President Greg Wright said the authority at the April meeting approved an inducement resolution for Trinity.

“The school requested $5 million in bond funding to help with an expansion project that will add 15 classrooms,” Wright said. ”The inducement resolution is the first step in the revenue bond process. The Development Authority expects to receive a request to approve a bond resolution at a later date.”

Wright said that if the bond resolution is approved, neither Coweta County nor CCDA would be responsible for repayment of the bonds.

“The bonds being considered are revenue bonds, which are paid back by the borrower from its revenues,” Wright said. ”The bonding process is simply a way for the school to borrow money at a more competitive interest rate and is used by many communities in Georgia as an economic development tool.”

Trinity Christian School is a Christ-centered private school serving grades Pre-K-12, according to the school’s website. The school has a combined enrollment of approximately 900 students residing in Coweta, Fayette and south Fulton counties.

The school is located on Hwy. 54 at the intersection of Ga. Highway 34, just west of the Peachtree City limits.
