Storm knocks out power at 2 Fayetteville schools

Fayette Co. High, Fayetteville Elementary trudge on

Fayette County High School and the nearby Fayetteville Elementary School pushed past the lunchtime hour without power today in the wake of heavy overnight winds that caused trees to fall all over the county.

Both schools were continuing with classes, and students were fed sandwiches, according to school spokesperson Melinda Berry Dreisbach. Without power, the kitchens at both schools were unable to cook lunch.
