Rose Society members appointed as International Rose Show judges

South Metro Rose Society (SMRS) congratulates its members, Walt and Linda Reed of Peachtree City, on their recent appointment as International Rose Show Judges under the World Federation of Rose Societies (WFRS). This appointment means that they have met all the requirements and are fully qualified to judge the horticultural classes at any WFRS rose show around the world. They have already judged shows in Australia and Canada. Both are Master Rosarians, ARS Horticultural Judges, and past SMRS officers.

The Reeds invite everyone to visit the upcoming 27th Annual Rose Show on May 19-20 at Church of Christ fellowship Hall, 870 Redwine Rd. in Fayetteville. The show is free to the public from 1-4 p.m. on both days to view, smell, and photograph the hundreds of exhibited roses and rose arrangements.

Local rose growers are invited to enter their roses for competition. Entries must be made at the show site between 7-10 a.m. on May 19 for judging. Rose bouquets will be sold and there will be an Information Table staffed by ARS Consulting Rosarians. Terrific raffle prizes include tickets to the Georgia Aquarium, restaurant gift certificates, a 24k. gold-plated rose pin, rose bushes, and more.

All show visitors are eligible to enter a drawing to win two tickets to The Georgia Renaissance Festival. For more information call 770-631-3885.
