Fayette Issues group meets tonight

Due to a number of individuals who have conflicts with Tuesday nights, the Fayette County Issues Tea Party will meet Monday, May 10 at 7:00 p.m. at Whitewater Creek Community Center Club House just inside the main gate at Redwine Road & Birkdale Drive.

The meeting will include additional decisions on the direction and goals leading up to the primary election on July 20. Public input is requested.

If you haven't been to one of these meetings-come see for yourself.
Hard facts were presented and as a citizen of Fayette County I need answers as to WHY! Went to Fayette Government Website...who is running? When do we vote for these local people running? What are the dates for early vote? I can't seem to find ANY information on anyone...wake up Fayette you care anymore??? It's important to check out every person running for County Commissioner...Every voter should get all the facts and look at EACH candidate carefully! AND THEN VOTE! At least this group is actually looking at the candidates and showing us who voted for what this past year...

He's probably getting paid by Cass Sunstein.

It's the new talking point.. Denise.. We are Anti-Government and need to be shut up and shut down.. Well when people feel threated and scared they react.

They don't care that we are Patriots and are not against the "Government" in any way except to make sure it stays true to the Constitution.

These Progressives care not for the Constitution that is unless they get to do the interpretations.

AFTER his election to the county commission, Jack Smith was appointed to the board of directors for the Bank of Georgia. According to the president of the Bank of Georgia, they "cater" to builders and developers. The Bank of Georgia was created by real estate developers for real estate developers. This bank is one of a select few dedicated to heavily funding the developers and residential builders in Fayette and Coweta counties.

More documented facts: Federal and state regulators have clamped down on the bank for poor banking practices. The West Fayetteville Bypass, as clearly seen on the map, opens up huge tracts of farmland to residential development. The county commission has admitted the Bypass is for "future traffic." Chairman Smith said in an interview that the Bypass was a way to control development in the county. He might as well have said that the West Fayetteville Bypass area is where he wants development to go. The Rivers Family donated a tract of land to the County for the purpose of building the Rivers Elementary School. The County named the school after the Rivers family because they donated the land. The Rivers family owns approximately 370 acres of land along the Bypass under the name of ARC Enterprises. They would very much like to develop that land.

Was the Rivers Elementary School built for "future" students as the Bypass is being built for "future traffic?" Were they planning on filling Rivers Elementary School with the "future" students who would be living in the "future" houses they planned to build? That is just one tract of land and one "future" development. There are many more along the West Fayetteville Bypass.

Who benefits from that type of activity: the Bank of Georgia? The homeowners who live in the path of the Bypass certainly won't benefit. Their property values will be destroyed not to mention their homes, lives and environment.

When we vote this year, it is extremely important that we vote in the Primary. If we don't want more of the same, we need to vote Jack Smith and Eric Maxwell OUT of office.

That isn't all folks. There are more DOCUMENTED FACTS!!

So the facts here are that a CPA sits on a bank board and that banks loan to developers and builders? The rest seems like conspiracy theory. And I love the "select few" banks theory that really represents over 90% of the banks in existence in Georgia. Maybe I give the voters of Fayette County too much credit, but I think your arguments will carry much further without the conspiracy theories that connect the commissioner to the school board to the landowner to the developer to the board of directors to the CPA/Commissioner. There are plenty of rational evaluations of Smith's performance and Brown's. How about we stick to those so we can have a reality based decision process.

Did you change the name just in time to support Steve Brown without people knowing it is actually you? Is it because FAYCOG's views didn't coincide with Tea Party views?

On that thought, I wonder who Peter Pfeiffer supports. Isn't he the "If-you-build-it-they-will-use-it-cause-they're-already-here" guy? Did this conflict break up FAYCOG?

Remember, now, these are JUST THE FACTS.

Jack Smith recently gave substantial tax breaks (our money) and incentives to the Chinese Sany Corp and then received an expensive and lavish week-long stay in China, courtesy of the same corporation, which included top-rated lodging, meals, entertainment and tours of the Chinese countryside such as Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, a tour of the Olympic Stadiums, the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and the Shanghai Pearl Tower, a clear violation of the State Code of Ethics.

Commissioner Maxwell who, as a sitting judge for the Municipal Court of Peachtree City, represented a client before his OWN court in order to obtain a plea deal for his friend. This is another whopping ethics predicament (City Code. 62-80. Representation, etc.) Fortunately, for the integrity of the judicial system, the city solicitor refused to cooperate with the deed and ruined Commissioner Maxwell's indiscretion. The Peachtree City government forced Maxwell's removal from his position as judge.

Remember, we CAN vote Smith and Maxwell out of office at the Primary election on July 20, 2010. Just the Facts!

If so, has there been a filed an ethics complaint? I have to wonder when that decision was handed down and how I missed it? Could you post a copy for us? They are all politicians and in Jack Smith's case I also am jealous that I did not get to go to China, but isn't a politician supposed to bring jobs to the community and aren't those jobs brought in today's world by forming business relationships? In Maxwell's case, if it happened as stated, I am glad to see the system working as it should if such a deal was attempted and failed. If it happened as you suggested, sounds like the State Bar should get a complaint. Anybody know if one was filed and the result? Did he actually try to approve his own client's plea deal or just recuse himself as judge to be atty. What happened in the end and what judge signed off?

Have2, with reference to Mr. Smith's trip to China, I would like to refer you to O.C.G.A. 45-10-2, which authorizes the Secretary of State to publish the Code of Ethics For Government Service established in section 45-10-1 (Ga. L. 1968, p. 1369.) for exhibiting to the public and employees of the state and all governments therein.

Any person in government service should:

I. Put loyalty to the highest moral principles and to country above loyalty to persons, party, or government department.

II. Uphold the Constitution, laws, and legal regulations of the United States and the State of Georgia and of all governments therein and never be a party to their evasion.

III. Give a full day's labor for a full day's pay and give to the performance of his duties his earnest effort and best thought.

IV. Seek to find and employ more efficient and economical ways of getting tasks accomplished.

V. Never discriminate unfairly by the dispensing of special favors or privileges to anyone, whether for remuneration or not, and never accept, for himself or his family, favors or benefits under circumstances which might be construed by reasonable persons as influencing the performance of his governmental duties.

VI. Make no private promises of any kind binding upon the duties of office, since a government employee has no private word which can be binding on public duty.

VII. Engage in no business with the government, either directly or indirectly, which is inconsistent with the conscientious performance of his governmental duties.

VIII. Never use any information coming to him confidentially in the performance of governmental duties as a means for making private profit.

IX. Expose corruption wherever discovered.

X. Uphold these principles, ever conscious that public office is a public trust.

So which paragraph are you alleging was specifically violated? Maybe I am slow tonight, but it is not jumping out at me?

Have 2, I'm afraid any attempt to enlighten you would just be a waste of time.

I have to wonder if you ever really looked at the section before making the charge. I am just asking you to pick a section and backup the allegation.
