Detectives arrest 3 in 1 week for identity fraud

Fayette County sheriff’s investigators arrested three people in one week for identity fraud crimes, the sheriff’s office has announced.

Chevell Chamberlyn, 30, of Atlanta, was arrested May 7 for making unauthorized transactions with the victim’s bank account Nove 16, 2009, deputies said.

Two people were arrested May 13 in two separate cases. Darrell Whitaker, 44, of Morrow, was arrested for cashing fraudulent checks in East Point that belonged to a Fayette County resident, deputies said. Tyechia Berry, 27, of Forest Park, was arrested for cashing a fraudulent check in Atlanta that belonged to a Fayette County resident, deputies said.
