Brooks UMC thrift shop will celebrate one year in business

The Second Chance Thrift Shop in Brooks will celebrate its first year of operation on Saturday, June 19.

The community is encouraged to join the celebration by coming by for cookies and lemonade that day.

“Your support of this ministry of Brooks UMC has been phenomenal and we have been able to reach out into the community with Christ’s love because of all the support,” a spokesperson said.

The shop is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and is at 151 McIntosh Road, three miles east of Starrs Mill off Ga. Highway 85 Connector. The church phone number is 770-719-7593.
