PTC Civic Ballet presents two shows this Saturday

Peachtree City Civic Ballet Company presents a family ballet, “Pixie Dust and Fairy Dreams” on Saturday June 5 at Our Lady of Mercy High School at 1 p.m. The ballet is designed to introduce children to the art of dance with ticket prices of just $5. This program is supported in part by the Grassroots Arts Program of the Georgia Council for the Arts through appropriations of the General Assembly and in partnership with Arts Clayton.

Director Kathleen Senger and Artist-In-Residence Brenda Hotard have staged “The Kingdom Of Shades” from “La Bayadere” for members of the ballet company. Featured soloists include four graduating seniors Maya Austin, Jennifer Garritson, Erin Breanne Noah, and Lindsay Ratcliffe. The annual spring dance concert will be held Saturday evening at 5 p.m. showcasing all types of dance including Ballet, Hip Hop, Jazz, Lyrical, and Praise Dance. The Georgia Department of Labor announced this week that the unemployment rate in the Three Rivers region in July was 7.1 percent, up five-tenths of a percentage point from 6.6 percent in June.
