Armed robber hits pharmacy in north F'ville
An armed robbery occurred Thursday at the Rite-Aid pharmacy on North Glynn Street in Fayetteville when a man asking for help while shopping later produced a handgun and demanded money from the cash register.
Whitlow said a black male thought to be in his 50s entered the store just before 7 p.m. Thursday and asked for help locating several items. Once the items were secured the man went to the register where he produced a long-barreled revolver, pointed the gun at the clerk and demanded money from the cash register, Whitlow said.
The man left the store on foot with the money, said Whitlow.
No one was injured in the robbery, Whitlow said.
Whitlow said the man was described as 5’6”-5’7” in height with a gray and white beard and wearing blue jeans, a white t-shirt with a I Love NY (with a heart symbol) and a green baseball cap with a white emblem on the left side.
Whitlow said investigators are looking into the possibility that the man may have been involved in similar robberies in area jurisdictions.
