World Changers Church pastor Creflo Dollar charged with assaulting daughter, 15

World Changers Church International Pastor Creflo Dollar was arrested at his home Friday shortly after midnight on charges of simple battery and cruelty to children after Fayette County deputies responded to his north Fayette County residence on a domestic disturbance call. The arrest came after Dollar’s 15-year-old daughter and a witness told deputies that her father physically assaulted her.

Fayette County Sheriff’s spokesman Brent Rowan said deputies responded to the Dollar residence on Sandy Creek Road at approximately 1 a.m. in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon their arrival, deputies interviewed Dollar’s 15-year-old daughter who said she and her father had been in an argument over her attending an upcoming party, Rowan said.

Deputies also interviewed a witness to the disturbance, Rowan added.

Deputies at the scene were told that the argument turned physical, with Dollar found to be the primary aggressor, said Rowan. The 15-year-old suffered superficial injuries and did not require medical treatment, Rowan said.

According to reports, the 15-year-old daughter told investigators that she went to the kitchen and began crying after being told she could not go to the party. Her father entered the room and asked her why she was crying. Upon being told that she did not want to “talk right now” Pastor Dollar charged her, put his hands around her throat and began to choke her, reports said. The 15-year-old said her father then “slammed her to the ground and began punching her and took his shoe off and started whooping her with it,” the deputy's report said.

The deputy in his report said he noticed a scratch on the right side of the girl’s neck close to her throat.

The report indicated that Pastor Dollar in his statement said he and his daughter were in a disagreement about a party she wanted to attend. After the exchange his daughter left the room and entered the kitchen and became upset.

Dollar told deputies that he entered the kitchen and asked why she was upset. Dollar said his daughter became very disrespectful and he approached her and tried to restrain her. Dollar stated that while restraining her, she began to hit back and then he wrestled her to the floor. He said that, while on the floor, he began to spank her on her bottom and the back of her legs. Dollar said she calmed down after the spanking and was advised to go to her room, reports said.

Deputies also spoke with a witness to the disturbance. The witness in her statement recounted the argument, stating that while in the kitchen, Pastor Dollar grabbed the 15-year-old’s shoulders, slapped her in the face and put both hands around her neck and choked her for about five seconds, adding that the girl tried to break free and did not fight back, according to reports. The witness said she then left the room to get the 15-year-old’s mother after Dollar threw his daughter to the ground.

Dollar, age 50, was arrested on charges of simple battery-family violence and cruelty to children, Rowan said.

The high profile pastor heads Creflo Dollar Ministries that includes the World Changers Church International located in College Park and CDM Global Missions. World Changers International has 16 satellite churches in seven states and Washington, D.C. and CDM has offices in Australia, South Africa, Nigeria and the United Kingdom, according to creflodollarministries.org.

Spanking a 15 year old ? Whoa !!! I'm sorry, Pastor, that is most assuredly not Biblical.

Cashflow.................Whaddup?

More than five of the Top-10 subjects for comment in the Citizen today pertain to some sort of crime or legal issue.

This is getting really bad, folks.

Since we have a Primary Election on July 31st, it would be extremely informative for all Fayette citizens/voters to attend the upcoming Fayette County Issues Tea Party sponsored Judicial Candidates/Candidates for Sheriff debate.

The NON PARTISAN debate will be held on Thursday, June 14th, at 6:30 pm at the Harvest Christian Community Center, 383 N. Glynn Street?Ga Hwy. 85 N, Fayetteville, in the Fayette Place Center behind the bright yellow Mexican Restaurant.

We need to KNOW who we are voting for BEFORE we vote for them.

I agree!

Know who we are voting for before we vote for them and pray the IT's have not been paid to adjust the software on the digital Diebold computers to swing your votes one way or . . . . . Oh, I didn't mean to say that, forgive me! "Invisible Ballots" is a disturbing DVD posted all over the internet for all to see the sad truth about manipulated "voting." Do your own research on who controls the vote. . . . . .

Back to reality. . . my family will not vote for incumbents, if we do it will be the incumbent who has held office the shortest length of time as we can pray there is still hope for the newbies. Please confirm that your candidate will uphold their oath of office. Recall any candidate who refuses to do so.

The Truth, thank you so much for posting your comment. I hope everyone reads it.

Too many of us vote for someone based upon a nice smile and a friendly handshake. We don't take the time to educate ourselves on the issues or how the candidates stand on those issues.

We don't ask candidates the uncomfortable questions.

Last but by no means least, we don't hold our elected officials accountable!

IT IS EASIER TO JUST KEEP VOTING FOR THE SAME PEOPLE OVER AND OVER AGAIN. We do that until we are hit up side the head with an issue that is so blatantly wrong it can't be ignored. By that time, however, it is way too late.

Truth, thanks for caring!

Apparently Jesus would choke his own daughter and then try to lie his way out of it when he got caught.

Why so angry? Did one of the Bentley's break down? Don't worry you'll be able to bully your congregation into paying your way out of this. Maybe they will give you enough money for a new plane too.

Proverbs 23: 13-14 -
"Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you beat him with a rod, he will not die. If you beat him with the rod you will save his soul from Sheol."

Should have used a sapling, not his hands!

There is no way he can mount a defense of these criminal charges due to obviously Satan unless all the sheeple give to the Creflo Almighty Dollar Scamming Prosperity Movement Defense Fund! Amen brothers and sisters!

"We are gathered here today under the Holy Love of God and Money, because he gave to you brothers and sisters. And what better way to show your love than to give deep....give real deep...and give it until it hurts, because he gave to you brothers and sisters."

Is used effectively in comedy - but some take their cultural and religious beliefs quite seriously. This situation is a tragedy for this family - regardless of the father's profession. He will be judged by 'Ceasars's Law' as well as by his family and his followers - especially his daughter. All this over a party!!! Those who have been successful in raising 15 year old daughters can be thankful that they did not find themselves handling a similar situation so erroneously!!

"...some take their cultural and religious beliefs quite seriously."

And some just choke their daughter.

No laughing matter especially when it involves the caring treatment of children.

That's a really stupid thing to say. No one in my circle of friends is hauled off to jail for attacking and choking their daughter. They are smart enough to know not to attack defenseless children, especially their own.

Cashflo Dollar of Money Changers Church - Hauled off to the pokey.

Your assignment for today: Look up the word erroneously

If you read Grizz's posts, it is clear that he just loves to blabber. Sometimes he makes perfect sense, but more often he displays an inability to think logically or write intelligently (not to mention his deficit skills in reading comprehension and understanding basic vocabulary).

Evidently, Grizz just likes to talk (i.e., post comments). He doesn't care (or know) that he often makes no sense, he just likes to talk.

...isn't that the purpose of blogs? The AJC devotes a certain section to 'venting'... We could all support our statements/arguments better if we posted research, etc...but it wouldn't be a 'blog' then, would it? It'd be a research paper.

You misused the word 'erroneously' in your statement. Dense?

" I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. They are not very Christ-like." Gandhi sure had this guy pegged!

Lots of people seem to be jealous of Creflo's success, and his Christian belief. That is sad. He is human and a Brother in Christ. Humans make mistakes. I I am proud that ha cares about where his daughter wanted to go, good dad. Sounds like he lost control, I don't know, and he shouldn't have. If there is no pattern of this behavior, I think he is a good dad.

...I have 2 daughters who drove me nuts when they were that age. I NEVER once thought choking them was an acceptable response to their 'teenageness'. It really shows where his true beliefs lie; too bad for him that it gets to be so publicized. But, that's the life he's chosen...

. . .it appears some Christians forget the Christ in their actions.

We love and continue to pray for you and your family.

Too often a Christian is judged in harsher terms than one who does not profess to be a Christian. In the case of Creflo Dollar assaulting his Daughter; I believe that what is going to be the thorn here is he will deny it ever happened and THAT is the REAL issue in all of this.

He is a human and because of that he is not perfect; he will make mistakes and he will sin. God provided for these things with the death and resurrection of Jesus. Mr. Dollar seems to be going the way of all who get caught with their hands in the cookie jar; he will deny it happened as both of his Daughter’s said originally had happened.

If Creflo Dollar wants to show what a Christian should always do, then he will admit his actions, ask God and his Church to forgive him and take his punishment. We all know that will never happen and THAT is the sad truth in all of this.

Mahatma Gandhi once said “I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.” What a sad thing it is when a non Christian understands the real problem that exists in our Christian society today!

Two accounts have been reported: The daughters and the pastor. The truth is somewhere between these two accounts. The 'Christ' will encourage one or the other to tell the truth. Undoubtedly he 'lost it'. Raising teenagers is not a piece of cake. . . .and teenage daughters can try a man's soul. Very sad situation. My grandfather never disciplined in anger. I learned this was a very wise action.

WWJD? I think he would want to protect the kid. If it is bad enough that the kid calls the cops and the sister verifies the story, then it's time to take action. Thank you Fay County Police for doing the right thing for the child. Being physically violent with a teenager is not the way to fix the problem. There clearly is a problem beyond just this incident. Time will tell and like with all ministers, I don't see a halo waving over the head of Mr. D$llar. I am takin' the side of the kid until proven otherwise.

He said he didn't do it; it was the devil trying to derail his delivery of God's message! You can't get more defendable than that - he's got God on his side! But, so did Jimmy Swaggart, the Bakers, Oral Roberts, Ted Haggard, Eddie Long...sigh...

a parents goes to jail for disciplining their child???? she is a spoiled brat who didn't get her way so thinking she'd make it better and get her way decided to call the police...who knows if he really did choke her, if he did shame on him but if he didn't(which i don't believe he did)SHAME on his daughter for trying to retaliate on him for not getting her way. I just don't see such a high profiled person really choking their child, knowing she could tell someone....Sounds to me that if he really did choke her, he needs to squeeze a little tighter next time..BRAT!

No, shame on you! Unless you were there to witness the situation, you have absolutely no way to back up your thinking that he is innocent. How do you know she is a brat and if she is, that's his and his wife's fault...they are the ones who raised her.

and you were not there either....And obviously you didn't read what I said...NEVER said he was or was not guilty!

You said he went to jail for "disciplining his child" and "next time needs to squeeze harder." Obviously, you could care less about "guilt" or "innocence." If he had maybe tied her to a chair and drilled out fingernails to "discipline" her, would that be OK? Is it OK if it's Creflo doing this but not OK if it's your spouse?
