Jones-McLaurin Engagement

Delphina and Barry Turner of Peachtree City announce the engagement of their daughter, Brittney Elise Jones, to Christopher Allen McLaurin, son of Lorraine and the late James McLaurin of Birmingham Ala.

The bride-elect is the daughter of the late Thyran Jones. She is the granddaughter of Eddie and Wiley Jones and Mae and the late J.D. Banks of Richmond, Calif. She is a 2003 graduate of McIntosh High School and a 2007 graduate of Birmingham-Southern College, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in biology-psychology. She also recently received her certification in forensic death investigation from the University of Florida. Currently, she teaches forensic science and biology at the secondary educational level. She also works as an autopsy assistant for the medical examiners/coroner’s office.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Eva and Spencer “Coffee” Grey and the late Mildred and Andrew Badaracco of New York, N.Y. He will obtain his degree in criminal justice from Jefferson State College in December of 2010. He is currently employed as a security officer with Blue Cross Blue Shield in Birmingham.

A February 2011 wedding is planned in Birmingham, where the couple will reside following their honeymoon.
