Coweta Commission candidates forum July 12

The time for voters to approve two Coweta County commissioners is getting close. The Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce will be the location for a July 12 forum that will give the five candidates vying for the two commission seat a chance to be heard and to field questions by the Coweta County Republican Party, the chamber and those submitted in advance by the community.

The 2010 Coweta County Commission Republican Primary Forum will be held July 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce.

The forum will follow the League of Women Voters format. The debates will be split between the candidates for the two Coweta County Commission districts up for election in the July 20 primary.

The first forum will feature District 2 incumbent Tim Lassetter and challenger Eddie Wilson. Included in the second forum will be District 3 candidates Bob Blackburn, George Harper, and David Stover.

Candidates will be provided with time for opening and closing remarks and will respond to questions prepared by the local Republican Party, the chamber and those submitted in advance from the community. Those questions should be emailed to info@newnancowetachamber.org

Questions will apply equally to all candidates.

The forum is sponsored by the Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce Business & Community Advocacy Committee and the Coweta County Republican Party.

Chamber offices are located at 23 Bullsboro Drive in Newnan.

For more information contact the Chamber at 770-253-227o.
