Timeless tale hits The Fred this weekend

“Les Miserables, School Edition,” takes over the Fred in Peachtree City this weekend with its epic tale of lives lived in France. The show is a production of Twilight Theatre with performances at 8 p.m. July 5, 6, and 7. One of the most popular Broadway musicals of all time, the 2013 summer stock cast includes over 75 talented youth ages 8 to 19 from throughout the Southern Crescent.

Based on the novel by Victor Hugo, this classic tale of courage, redemption, love, and freedom is told through some of the most touching and memorable music ever written.

“This musical changed my life the first time I saw it as a college student at FSU,” says Twilight’s artistic director, actor, and local voice and acting teacher Alison Chambers, “and working with these talented, enthusiastic young people and their loving, supportive families has changed my life, too.”

This is the third time Chambers has directed this compelling story that tells of the poverty and oppression in France in the 1800s and of the students who come together to lead a revolution in hopes of affecting the much-needed change.
“This is the perfect way to celebrate our freedom on this Fourth of July weekend,” says Chambers.

Tickets are $17, general admission and $15, students/seniors/military and can be purchased at the amphitheater box office during regular business hours. A limited number of stage-side tables (seating 6) are available by emailing For more information, visit
