Picture perfect

The Kiwanis Club of Peachtree City held their 25th Annual Art & Music Showcase at The Bridge Community Center on Monday, March 22.  It was an opportunity provided for local youth (Grades 1st – 12th) to showcase their talent in art and music. There were over 100 entries in the art competition and over 50 entries in the talent competition!  Competition and judging was broken out in  four grade level groups:  First-Third, Fourth-Sixth, Seventh-Ninth & Tenth-Twelfth. Morgan Beck, a 4th grader at Braelinn Elementary, placed first (and received a cash award) in the Fourth-Sixth Grade Art competition. Photo/Special.

The Starr's Mill Panthers boys golf team finished fourth in Monday's AAAAA state tournament. The McIntosh Chiefs finished eighth as a team. Cambridge won the team title with a +6 (290).

Author Reem Faruqi said his newest release, a children’s book titled “Lailah’s Lunchbox,” is about a young Muslim child named Lailah who moves from the Middle East all the way to Peachtree City.
