Gilbert Johnson, age 83, of Peachtree City

Gilbert "Gib" Johnson, age 83, of Peachtree City, Ga., passed away on Monday, July 16, 2012.

He was born in Lohrville, Iowa to Vonnie Johnson and Bernice Louise Salisbury Johnson on July 12, 1929.

He graduated from Buena Vista College. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Gib was both an educator and a coach. He finished his career working for General Electric.

He enjoyed all sports particularly the Iowa Hawkeyes and the NY Yankees.

He is survived by his son, Greg Johnson and daughter-in-law, Kim Johnson; grandchildren, Nicole, Grant, Chase, and Alaina Johnson.
