Sunflowers over my shoulders . . .

Walter Mills must have the biggest green thumb in Fayetteville. The impromptu gardener’s home on Kathi Avenue is the site of a wealth of mammoth sunflowers that reach upwards of 12 feet in height. Mills in other locations on the property adjacent to Frances Stone Interiors also grows a host of the plants, including his favorite, gourds. Photo/Ben Nelms.
