McDonough Rd. to present parenting seminar Aug. 18

McDonough Road Baptist Church will present “You’re Not Alone,” a parenting seminar for parents of preschoolers, children and students, and grandparents raising grandchildren, on Saturday, Aug. 18, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the church facility on McDonough Road.

The presenter is Roger Palmer, national director of Reach-Out Youth Solutions. Palmer served as a youth pastor for over 22 years before joining Reach-Out Youth Solutions in 2004. His topics will include “Facing Our Imperfections” and “Focusing Our Influence.”

“Parenting these days is tough,” said Joni Owens, minister of children and preschool at McDonough Road. “We want to assist parents with encouragement, cutting edge instruction, and especially spiritual resources to help them build a home that honors God.”

Cost is only $5, which covers lunch, and childcare is provided by reservation. Make reservations by calling 770-460-5423, or stopping by the church office. More information can be found online at www.mcdonoughroad.org.

McDonough Road Baptist is at 352 McDonough Rd., just past the department of drivers’ services building. Dr. David L. Chancey is pastor.
