Shelton leaving FCSO

Investigator Josh Shelton, who spearheaded the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office “Shop with a Sheriff” program, is leaving the sheriff’s office after 13 years of service.

Sheriff Barry Babb said Shelton has received numerous awards and decorations during his service to his community.

Shelton is now taking the corporate career route with a Fortune 500 company where his skills as a detective will be applied with new challenges, Babb said.

“We are very proud of him and he will be missed,” said Babb.

“He will have more time for his family and we all understand that. He is one of the most talented investigators I have had the honor to serve with and his compassion for victims and sense of justice is at his very core. We wish him the very best.”
