Mr. James Finley Painter, 67, of Union City

Mr. James Finley Painter, age 67, of Union City. Mr. Painter was an avid Atlanta Braves fan who went to be among the angels in the outfield on Friday, August 6, 2010 after a short illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents Finley M. Painter and Mary Louise Cox Painter; brother William R. Painter.

He is survived by his daughter Pamela Carpenter of Charleston, WV; son Jimmie Carpenter of Charleston; grandchildren Chrystal and Dylan Carrier, Kayla and MacKenzie Painter all of Charleston; sister Mary "Cookie" Akers of Fayetteville; nieces and nephews, as well as many friends.

Mr. Painter was cremated with a graveside service to be announced at a later date. Memorials can be made in Mr. Painter's honor to the American Cancer Society.
