Cops: PTC man pushed mom from moving car

A Peachtree City man has been arrested in connection to an Aug. 4 incident where officers reported that he pushed his mother out of a moving vehicle then stole the vehicle and fled the area.

Andrew William Deen, 28, of Gelding Garth, was charged Aug. 5 with theft, auto theft and aggravated assault-family violence, according to police reports.

Police records indicate that an officer responded to the Gelding Garth residence on a domestic disturbance call. The officer was told by Deen’s mother that he forcefully took her vehicle and her purse without permission.

The woman told officers that Deen forcefully threw her out of the drivers seat while the car was in motion in the driveway, almost striking her with the car door reports said. The rate of speed of the vehicle during the incident was not noted in the report. The victim told officers Deen left the area to purchase heroin.
