James Oliver DuRant, 74, of Fayetteville

James Oliver DuRant, 74, of Fayetteville, GA and Florence, SC passed away August 17, 2010.

Mr. DuRant was a retired Air Traffic Controller, and he had served his country in the U.S.A.F. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Theresa DuRant; son, James A. (Andy) DuRant of Forest Park, GA.; brothers David DuRant Jr., Charles DuRant, Sr., and Kenneth DuRant; sisters Irene Poole, Cathrine Allen, and Virginia Baird. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Carl J. Mowell & Son Fayetteville Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Layton–Anderson Funeral Home, Florence, SC, with burial to follow in Byrd cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Disabled American Veterans.
