Accident on 'The Walking Dead' set lands zombie in hospital

A Sept. 6 accident on the set of “The Walking Dead” being filmed in Senoia had a cast member airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center for treatment. The injuries to 20-year-old “zombie” Garrett Zane Orr were not life-threatening and he was released from care on Monday.

A call to the Coweta County 911 center requested an ambulance after the accident. Orr was reportedly run over by a “military vehicle” on the set when the vehicle’s brakes did not function properly, according to news reports. The 2.5-ton vehicle was said to have run over Orr’s stomach and hip, reports said.

Orr plays one of the zombies in the popular AMC television show.

Orr on his Twitter post over the weekend said he was visited by actor Lauren Cohan, who plays Maggie Green on the hit television show.
