Dr. Ronald G. Hanie, Sr., 75, of Fayetteville

Dr. Ronald G. Hanie, Sr., 75, of Fayetteville, GA passed away September 12, 2010.

Ron served as a Baptist pastor in Georgia for 50 years at Ways Baptist Church in Wrens, GA., Cedar Hill Baptist in Owenton, KY., Pine lake Baptist in Pine Lake, GA., Park Avenue Baptist in Atlanta, GA., First Baptist of Chatsworth, GA., White Oak Hills Baptist in Stone Mountain, GA., Sonoraville Baptist in Calhoun, GA., and also a Chaplin at the Atlanta Federal Penitentiary. Dr. Hanie also served as a foreign missionary to Paris, France .

Surviving loved ones include wife Shirley Hanie; daughters and son-in-laws Rhonda & Tommy Moore and Leah & Ben Creasman; son Ronald G. Hanie Jr. and his wife Leigh Anne; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren, and 2 sisters.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at Flat Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Moore officiating. The burial will be at Westminster Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
