Waller in concert at Brooks UMC September 29

City of Peace recording artist John Waller will perform a benefit concert at Brooks United Methodist Church on Saturday, Sept. 29. Waller is an internationally acclaimed Christian music artist who is best known for his song, “While I’m Waiting” featured in the 2008 Christian film, Fireproof.

This intimate gathering will also feature an elegant candlelight dinner. Dinner starts at 6 p.m. and the concert begins at 7 p.m. The cost is $250 per plate and there is a limit of 100 to be sold.

The Georgia Department of Labor announced this week that the unemployment rate in the Three Rivers region in July was 7.1 percent, up five-tenths of a percentage point from 6.6 percent in June.
