James Webb Rigby, 76

James Webb Rigby, 76, passed away in his home in Celina, Tenn. on September 26, 2013.

He grew up in Larchmont, N.Y. and also lived in East Point, Ga. for several decades. He was a graduate of Lehigh University and received a masters degree from University of Arizona. His greatest loves were being out in nature, his dog, sailing, fishing and athletics. He single-handedly sailed from New York to Bermuda and back in his younger years. He often competed in swimming, tennis and running events for many years, winning several senior events. He was at home on the water, whether it was the ocean, lake or river. He enjoyed his final years fishing in the beautiful lakes of Tennessee and Kentucky that he deeply loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents Wallace James Rigby and Kathryn Ranney Rigby, and his grandson John Tyler Rigby, 22.

He is survived by his son John Wallace Rigby, daughter-in-law Patty Wofford Rigby, and grandson Trenton Lee Rigby of Fayetteville, Ga., and his two daughters Elizabeth Lee Rigby of Sedona, Ariz. and Linda Anne Rigby of Hampton, Ga.

A private graveside memorial will be held in Georgia.
