PTC's TDK honored for conservation efforts

One of Peachtree City’s largest companies was honored today by the state of Georgia for its conservation efforts.

TDK Corporation, which is also located in Duluth, was cited for reducing its discharge of toxics into the water system by nearly 6 percent, its hazardous material use by nearly 10 percent, energy consumption by about 10 percent and total water use by 27 percent.

The company also implemented an environmental purchasing program that drives the concept of sustainability into their supply chain, according to a press release from the office of Gov. Sonny Perdue.

Perdue started the Conserve Georgia awards to recognize those who help preserve and sustain the state’s natural resources for generations to come.
