5 burglaries charged to F’ville man

Burglary suspect Brantley Vinci

A Fayetteville man linked to five recent burglaries in unincorporated Fayette County was arrested Oct. 24 after being located by Fayette County deputies responding to a burglary in progress call to 911.

Brantley T. Vinci, 34, of Rosedell Court, was charged in five burglaries in Fayette County, though other charges are pending, said Sheriff Barry Babb.

“We have good evidence against Vinci in these burglaries and are continuing to build the case and any other connections to more crimes if supported,” Babb said Monday.

Also arrested with Vinci was 17-year-old Alexis Darley, of Barnesville, who was charged with loitering and prowling, Babb said.

Babb said deputies on Oct. 24 responded to Aristocrat Court near Redwine Road in reference to a 911 call reporting a burglary in progress.

“The caller heard a disturbance at his window and when he went to investigate he saw a white male entering his home,” Babb said. “When confronted by the homeowner, the perpetrator fled the scene. After an area search, deputies apprehended the male and a female passenger in the vicinity.”

Babb said detectives have linked Vinci with five recent burglaries in Fayette County, and he is being investigated for crimes in neighboring counties. Detectives have conducted two search warrants in this case and are seeking a third for Vinci’s DNA, said Babb.

“As an agency we have been working very hard to catch someone responsible for our burglary increase and the officers’ hard work paid off that day. When the call came in that we had one in progress we saturated the area to cover escape routes,” said Babb.

The sheriff’s office in responding to the recent burglaries has used a variety of staff to locate perpetrators, Babb said.

“To give you an idea of how hard we have focused on this, for six hours one day we had 25 officers from narcotics agents and detectives in unmarked cars to court service, civil and warrant officers patrolling in one patrol zone supplanting our regular patrol,” Babb said. “We even had the command staff on the street. As the holidays approach we will do more of these types of directed patrols. It unfortunately has been costly as this eats up our overtime budget.”

Deafening Silence from the Ethnocentric Bloggers

Two white guys arrested for crimes in Fayetteville make the front page of the Citizen, and not a peep from the usual rabble who blame Clayton County blacks for everything from global warming to thermonuclear war.

The silence is deafening.

Not sure who you are referring to, but a thug is a thug is a thug, no matter what color. You are the one who brought up color, dude and now you got DM going off on a tizzy about it. I am sick to death of what the THUGS have done to the northern part of this county don't give a rat's butt what color they are, but they have ruined a lot of wonderful neighborhoods and now it appears the thugs are here to stay.

The Silence

Was noted throughout FC. This minority appears to have pride in their obvious bias - and it's no secret how they classify their fear of criminals of a certain color. Only through positive contacts can this ignorance be erased. . . . But it is important to note the progress that has been made, and the positive interactions among the majority of citizens in FC. We (blacks) are considered. 'Haters' if we express a well founded fear of certain 'whites' or make the ignorant statement that all whites are like those who base their judgement of a person on the color of his/her skin. The silence is deafening, but certainly not un-noticed. Fear the criminal in our midst - not all 'people of color' who happen to cross the CC line.

Everyone in my neighborhood is talking about it, so you might be mistaken thinking everyone is being quiet because this thug has a light complexion. I am seriously sick to death of what has happened to this county and sick to death of people who want to make it a race thing when it is about the thugs, whatever color they are.

DM - It is not about race but about trash

I have said it over and over ..Trash is taking over the north part of the county like they did Clayton. Fayetteville's housing stock is aging and the middle class is being squeezed by the trash that rent cheap older homes whether they be black or white. Trash is Trash..

I don't care your color, if you were raised in single parent household, you hail from another county, just stay out of Fayette. No better yet, come on in. Sheriff B and company will be glad to give you temporary accommodations and three squares a day. Then through Fayettes generous court system they will provide you an even bigger house that you can share with your friends for many years to come. Great job and kudos to Sheriff Babb and a great staff

ThePrez, wait just one minute. Think before you blog. I have

four children who were raised by a single mother (through no fault of their own or mine). They had rules and they knew they had to abide by them. They were normal children who never got suspended from school, never got into trouble with the law, always worked, have/had great jobs or retirements, they in turn raised good law-abiding, hardworking children who were never in trouble and are now productive law abiding, hard working people.

So, Prez, it really isn't about how many parents you have--it is about the job the parent/parents you have do in raising you. If you raise your children to know right from wrong, that no one owes them a living, that they are not to depend on the government to support them, that they have to work for what they want, that if they get in trouble with the school or law, they are in even bigger trouble with you, and you do all of this with love and understanding-- and the stars and moon are aligned correctly you will never have one of your children pose for a mug shot.

I did not mean that the way it came out. All the defense lawyers for these thieving murdering scum go to the jury crying about their tuff life, no daddy at home yada yada yada, this is what I meant to allude too. All of these scumbags have an excuse and will not own up to the fact they did not try to better themselves. Yes I have wronged many single parents, my sister a couple of nieces so please accept my apologies.

I have raised three boys to adulthood and through love, discipline and God if they want something they work to get it

Prez, to be honest, I know you did not mean to lump everybody

into that comment. I get furious every time I hear those defense lawyers or other bleeding hearts use that for an excuse. It is hard work raising children under any circumstances but if you are not up to the task, then darn it don't do the deed! No need for apology.

I am convinced that fate plays a large role in how kids turn out-I have 2, both experienced a stable, supportive upbringing, with positive value enforcement; both are college grads, yet they are entirely different people: one very successful, the other not. Do you call that "luck of the draw?"

It's amazing how different two kids can be sometimes with all else being pretty much the same. That's just life I guess. It will take a smarter person than me to figure that out and my IQ is 158, so good luck!

Nuk, looks like we are in the same ballpark. I tested in the

99 percentile. Got invites from Mensa, etc but never did bother following up with it--was too busy trying to raise those four kids. Besides, I really saw no reason to 'hang' with a bunch of egg heads. LOL I have depended on my good common sense a lot more--or maybe I only think it was common sense! As I have said before, I worked at universities where some people were off the charts but didn't know the time. Once I had a student helper working with me who was a mathematical genius and off the map in all other areas. I was busy and the phone kept ringing. I yelled over to him to pick up the phone--he picked it up, held it out and asked me what I wanted him to do with it---and he wasn't joking or being smart. Wonder where he is today? I knew you had to be pretty smart from your posts----maybe you can give some lessons to some of these bozos with their one track minds. Just kidding.

Amazing IQ NUK

Congratulations NUK, your IQ of 158 is four standard deviations above the mean and places you in the top 99.9944812644% of Americans in terms of intellectual ability. You must be very proud of your innate intellectual acumen.

Not that much

Wasn't like I worked to achieve it or anything. It does make excelling at standardized tests like the SAT or LSAT pretty easy, but beyond that, no one really cares :) It's not like you put it on your resume.

Besides, you have ex-gov and political figure John Sununu whose IQ is confirmed to be above 200 who didn't really do anything stellar in his political life, so while it's better to be smart than stupid, it doesn't always mean all that much at the end of the day.

IQ Improbabilities

Like all of us on this blog, I realize that Nuk is a bright guy. However, his assertion of an intelligence quotient of 158 is highly improbable. In a country of roughly 300 million, that would place him with the intellectual capacity of the top 16,556 – very rarefied air indeed. (Consider, for example, that there are about 1.5 million college professors in the United States.)

Other factors argue strongly against this achievement as well. The vocabulary subtest on the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale correlates most highly with overall intelligence, and Nuk communicates from a very pedestrian lexicon no higher than middle school level. Persons with IQs even two standard deviations above the mean (130) understand the complexity of almost any issue very quickly and typically couch their opinions quite tentatively because they are aware of competing explanations for most phenomenon. This characteristic describes few of us on this forum.

Again, this is not to infer that Nuk is intellectually deficient, merely that he may not have intellectual acumen in the stratosphere. When I have had the honor of being around someone with even a 130 IQ (97th percentile), I am amazed at his/her mental agility.

Sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction.

This is a blog on the Internet. It's almost like Twitter. No one really spends time composing coherent arguments, proofreading, or trying to impress the hell out of someone else....they just fire-off whatever is on their mind at the moment. About the only person I see here that generally spends some time on what they post is PTC Observer.

Sorry I don't meet your criteria but maybe if you had a higher IQ you might understand :) The kicker is that two other people who were tested at the same time I was both scored in the 160's and later married. I was hardly the poster child for IQ achievement.

AHG, I wish I had a definitive answer for you. Sometimes I

think it has something to do to where they are in the line-up. I know my older ones took to doing what had to be done much faster and with a lot less "Buts" as to why and a lot less "But it is not fairs". My answer to 'it's not fair' was that life is not always fair and how fortunate they were to learn that lesson early. I know what you mean about personalities--even tho' two of mine are identical twins they have very different distinct personalities, as do the other two. I do know that there are some parents ( one parent househould and two parent household) where they have done everything right and one child goes astray. Who knows what really makes that happen? Guess we can only do what is right, hold to our beliefs, be strong and pray a lot before and a lot of prayers of thanks after they have grown up and have not robbed a bank, become a terrorist or even tattooed every available space on their bodies. I have to admit if I did have to choose, I would have to go with the tattoos. LOL

More strawman arguments

Methed-up whiteboys (and girls) have been stealing chickens and probing things they shouldn't for a long time in Fayette County. They are a marginal minority existing on the fringes. They have no apologists spending literally years and thousands of posts on the local rag's website trying desperately to shape public opinion more towards acceptance of them and their follies. Conversely, they have no organized representation making wink-wink 'we're coming in large numbers, a-holes' not-so-veiled threats.

As these mundane arrests are not part of an increasing trend, and do not represent a shift of any kind, nobody makes a big deal about it. I'm sure you think that we just forgive each other and refuse to press charges upon discovery that a white person stole from us, but it isn't true. Do blacks get a bum deal through the court system compared to even the most base elements of the white population? Yes. But that is a nationwide problem, not something specific to Fayette.

If ever such a thing should happen, you would be stunned by the quickness and severity with which the pale folk of this county would address the problem. But there is no rising trend of white trash moving here in large numbers and committing violent crimes. There just isn't.

All you've done yet again is displayed your inability to distinguish apples from oranges.

People send out the welcome wagon when those who increase property values and scholastic metrics while lowering crime show up. Nobody's crying too much when a Japanese executive and his family buy a dump in Highgrove and send their kids in to help raise the SAT average for the schools.

Maybe organize something like that. You'd be amazed.

We have you to educate us, thankfully.

I commented on the BP robbery suspect.

I wish Fayette only had to deal with home grown thugs. The fact remains that if we had no Clayton County thugs to deal with, we would be MUCH better off. IF you disagree and think it's so great there, you can get one hell of a deal on a home....
