Quesinberry speaks at PTC Vets Day event

The commemoration of Veterans Day was held Saturday morning in the Commemorative Air Force hanger at Falcon Field. The guest speaker at the event was Steve Quesinberry, who chairs the Department of History and Social Studies at Newnan High School. Centering his remarks on the Korean War, Quesinberry gave an overview of the events leading up to the war and some of the human aspects of the “Forgotten War,” noting that Korea “soon looked more like what (the soldiers’) grandfathers had seen in the trench warfare of World War I.” Pictured are Quesinberry, at left, and several Coweta students and teachers dressed in clothing worn by veterans while in Korea.
