Officers are searching for the man who robbed the Quick Trip convenience store in north Fayette County at gunpoint just after midnight Wednesday.

Fayette County Sheriff’s spokesman Josh Shelton said deputies at approximately 12:30 a.m. responded to an armed robbery at the Quick Trip on Ga. Highway 85 North.

Shelton said a black male with a grey beard estimated to be approximately 5 feet, 8 inches in height and weighing approximately 210 pounds came into the store and demanded cash from the clerk.

The suspect pointed a pistol at the clerk as he made his demands, Shelton said. At the time of the robbery he was wearing a white T-shirt, black jacket, and blue jeans.

After taking the cash he left the store and drove away in a small blue passenger car.

Anyone with information pertaining to the robbery is asked to contact the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office at 770-461-6353.
