Teen struck crossing road in critical condition

A 17 year-old Tyrone male is in critical condition at Atlanta Medical Center after being struck by a vehicle late Friday evening while crossing Senoia Road in Tyrone.

The 17 year-old was struck by a vehicle at approximately 5:30 p.m. near the Crumpton’s Furniture store on Senoia Road on Tyrone’s south side, according to Tyrone Police Det. Steve Lafferty.

The teenager, whose name has not been released, was apparently in route to his residence across the street, Lafferty said.

The teenager was flown to Atlanta Medical Center where is he in critical condition, said Lafferty.

The incident is under investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff’s traffic accident investigation unit.
