Frances Hogue

Frances Hogue, 88, Fayetteville, formerly of East Point and Christian City, died Dec. 4, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Russell Hogue, and sisters, Bert Powell and Mae McDonald. Services will be today, Wed. Dec. 9 at 1 p.m. at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Jon Schroeder officiating. Interment will be at College Park Cemetery. She was a longtime employee of Macy's Department Store, retiring after 25 years of service. Survivors include a son, Ron "Bill" and Sharon Hogue, West Jordan, Utah; a daughter, Jan Morgan, Fayetteville; grandchildren, Jennifer and Kevin Anderson, Sparks, Nev., Michael Hogue, Las Vegas, Nev., Alison Morgan, Newnan, and Christopher Morgan, Ft. Campbell, Ky.; great-grandchildren, Brittney and Michael Hogue; and a brother, Louie Anglin, Blakeley, Ga. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.

The Georgia Department of Labor announced this week that the unemployment rate in the Three Rivers region in July was 7.1 percent, up five-tenths of a percentage point from 6.6 percent in June.
