Special gift

Mrs. Mary Younger (left) and daughter Drenda Brady, members of The Catholic Church of St. Gabriel in Fayetteville, recently donated a sanctuary lamp to Our Lady of Mercy High School. Shown also is Father Jimmy Adams, chaplain of the school and pastor of St. Gabriel’s. The lamp was originally in a Catholic church in Houston, Texas, when the Youngers were married 63 years ago. They obtained it when the parish rebuilt and expanded. Adams blessed the lamp after celebrating a special Mass remembering Leroy Younger who died seven years ago when he was pastor at St. Gabriel’s.
